A solar powered portable generator requires pre-planning before use. Not only must you have the proper attachments to ensure you and your home’s safety but you must also plan ahead for a fuel source.
Using a solar powered generator is ultimately better for both you and the environment, however, it does require advanced purchase and planning as you have to gather as much solar energy as possible in order to activate the generator. The benefit lies in a reduced fire hazard to your home as the generator does not create the same toxic fumes as a normal generator and also in that once you become accustomed to working the generator, you will realize that you have a potentially limitless source of power for your generator that is free to acquire. A solar powered generator will save you money in the long run by not requiring you to purchase fuel to operate it.
Even though a solar powered portable generator is much better for both your family and the environment, its use still poses some of the same threats as using a gasoline powered generator. You must employ the use of a transfer switch to make sure that the generator is only allowing one type of power to enter your home and also that the energy that your generator is producing is not being released into the power lines.
